About Me

My fascination with jewellery began as a child on a small Greek island that is still my second home. Searching in the sand for coloured stones with my mother and sister, we would display our finds as necklaces of treasure laid out on weathered rocks.

My love for jewellery continued and over the years I studied new techniques.  My main career has been working with refugees and women's rights both in the UK and overseas. But recently moving with my family from East London to Cambridge, came the decision to focus on my Jewellery. I work from my studio at home in central Cambridge.

About 'Rosalind Jerram Jewellery'

My jewellery designs are still inspired by the island's intense skies and the clear line of a white house set against the sea. I spend every summer on the same island with my own children in our home where slow village time becomes my daily life. Now I am also lifted by the vast East Anglian skies and the golden stones of historical Cambridge.

Simplicity and form – I love the process of hammering metal, the magic of forming a curve and the excitement of choosing an individual stone; designing a simple frame to draw one’s eye to it’s depths.

A simple Gold or Silver earring that catches the light and creates a sense of playful movement,  a small domed pendant that feels warm against one’s skin and comforting to the hand or a translucent aquamarine ring that on a cold day reminds one of summer seas - these are where my designs stem from.

All my work is handmade and each piece is a unique. I work in recycled Silver and love mixing Gold and silver together - using 22 or 18 carat gold Vermeil. I also work in solid gold for special commissions. All my pieces are hallmarked by The London Assay Office.

I handpick individual semi-precious gemstones that are interesting and include inclusions and shifting light patterns. The the stones are not perfect: like us they reflect their history and origins.

As all the pieces are individually made by me, this is a small collection that is constantly evolving. If you see something you like in The Archive or would like to commission me to make a piece in a different size or with a different stone do contact me to discuss this.

Whether you are choosing a piece for yourself or for someone else, I believe that Jewellery should make the wearer feel radiant and empowered, like wearing a secret talisman to carry you through the day or night.

These are beautiful elegant pieces to wear time and again and feel confident, radiant and free.
